2010 Membership

CASL is a non-profit organization that welcomes new memberships from healthcare professionals and scientists with an interest in liver diseases!

CASL members are a multidisciplinary group consisting of Canadian hepatologists, gastroenterologists, basic scientists, hepatobilary and transplant surgeons, pediatricians, radiologist, pathologists, trainees and other health care professionals with an interest in liver disease.

Membership benefits include

  • Subscription to the Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology; the official journal of the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver (CASL)
  • Reduced registration fee to the CASL Annual Winter Meeting/Canadian Digestive Disease Week (CDDW)±.

* Student Membership shall be restricted to under and post-graduate students, residents, fellows and trainees holding a training position in fields related to hepatology. Student membership shall not exceed three years unless additional proof of continued training status is supplied by the trainee's program director or supervisor.

€ Open to non-physicians, non-scientists who are allied health care professionals (e.g. nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, etc.) in fields related to hepatology.

§ Emeritus members are long standing Active members who are now retired from practice and have longstanding contributions to the field of hepatology during their career. Active members in good standing may nominate themselves or another member for Emeritus member status. A majority vote in favor of the applicant by the Governing Board would enable the change to Emeritus membership status.

The CASL Membership Committee regularly reviews new applications throughout the year. Once an applicant is approved, he/she is granted 'Provisional Membership' and begins to receive full membership benefits. You will receive a Welcome email which will include your login name and password to the Members Only section of our website. Your application will then be brought forward to the CASL Governing Board at the next meeting for final approval of your 'active member' status.

NOTE: In order for provisional membership approval to be granted prior to the Annual CASL Winter Meeting/CDDW, applications must be received no later than January 31st, each year.
